Kikkawa Yuu – 世界中に君は一人だけ (Sekaijuu ni Kimi wa Hitoridake) Review

I’m so, terribly sorry for being so inactive with my posting, lately! I had a feeling life would take ahold of me once I started to blog, and boy, was I right!! I spent my whole Winter break doing barely anything! Haha, but I feel like this is the prime time to get back into blogging, and I plan to do so with a lot of vigor!

So, recently, Kikkawa Yuu, Up-Front Agency soloist and former 8th generation auditionee released her 6th single, Sekaijuu ni Kimi wa Hitoridake, and upon my first listen, I was very, very skeptical about it. I didn’t like the sound of the first track at all, and, as it usually is with her music videos, I was found un-star-struck and not very keen on it.

But once the coupling tracks came out, I fell in love.

Sekaijuu ni Kimi wa Hitoridake is a rather slow, but pretty sounding single from Kikka, a style she hasn’t really been used to for an A-side, let alone the face of the single, but she pulls it off rather well, despite my lack of taste for it. I love Kikka, don’t get me wrong, but she’s definitely more suited for more happy-bubblegum-sounding singles.

If you’re interested, please watch Sekaijuu ni Kimi wa Hitoridake below!

Next up on the single is a song that I, personally, am addicted to.

Valentine’s RADIO.

Originally when I first saw the name of this song, I thought it was going to be her NEXT single, or an album track to be released near February 14th. I mean, it makes sense, right? But I was wrong, and was shocked to see the music video pop up in my YouTube subscriptions box.

Despite the music video confusing the hell out of me (Kikka has a robot maid… of herself. It sounds like a bad horror movie.), I really, REALLY liked this part of the single. The music video was fun and cute… despite the robot maid… and Kikka looked flaw-free, per usual. All three of the music videos tie in to each other, which I thought was a cute and fun touch for style.

If you’d like, please watch Valentine’s RADIO below!

Finally, the last track was something unexpected to me…

Chocolate Damashii!

An old track from an older single, Chocolate Damashii was originally sung by soloist Matsuura Aya in, if I’m not mistaken, in 2008. It was the last solo single in her career, and was also released around Valentine’s Day! Curious, this single is very valentine-oriented…

The music video once again ties in a robotic maid… of Kikka… servicing Kikka… by making her a cake.

She presents the cake to her at the end and it’s really freaking weird because she kisses her robot clone and–

I’ll stop.

Regardless, this has to be my FAVORITE song on this whole release. It’s fast-paced, it’s a remixed song, and it sounds beautiful coming from Kikka. I really love how this single was executed, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more promotion for Kikka from this single.

If you’d like, please watch Chocolate Damashii below!

All in all, this was a great release for Kikka, and I think she did rather well in Oricon… I forgot to check on it’s release date, but oh well.  I have faith in this little spitfire!

Gets! – Science Girl ▽ Silence Boy

As you guys should know, I went and bought myself a copy of Science Girl ▽ Silence Boy from CDJapan. It came in the mail today a LOT earlier, but I just decided to write about it now because I went on a romp with my friends ~ Regardless, it is here and I am here to blog about it!

Let’s start out with the bonus picture they sent in my order!

CDJapan Bonus Photo

I had known this was coming in my order, but I hadn’t the slightest clue as to what it looked like. Boy, am I happy that it’s a group photo, however! MaRi7, Hi7ta and RiNon all look spectacular in this shot! (I may have a slight thing for glasses, because I had the hardest time picking a favorite in this group…) Regardless, this was a nice addition to a perfect single!

Regular CD Cover

I ordered the Regular edition, for it was the only one to come with the limited card (shown later on in this post), but I love it all the same! I think using drawn versions was a cute idea for a science-y single, because it captures them almost perfectly! I didn’t like it at first, but I’ve definitely warmed up to it.

CDJapan Bonus Card

I was honestly hoping for RiNon; too bad I didn’t get it! I may have to pick up a few more versions of the single to see if I can possibly get RiNon…? One can only hope! Maybe I’ll even get MaRi7 in the process!

Let’s get on to the actual CD Contents, shall we?

1. サイエンスガール ▽ サイレンスボーイ

As I stated in my last blog post, I’m totally in love with this song. I’ve had it on repeat ever since I ripped the CD to my iTunes, but regardless, it’s a definite song you need to listen to!

2. ユメを解く理論

A song I wasn’t expecting to be as good as it is! One could even say that I like it better than Science/Silence…? Time can only tell! I’m sure my playcount tells a lot more though…!! ;;;;;

This song is good as well- doesn’t have as many listens yet, but I really do like the arrangement and how it sounds! I’m very proud of this single and how it’s doing. Science club needs to be a big thing, and fast! Like BABYMETAL!

Go for the gold, girls!

I’m going to post a few more shots from the case/lyrics booklet below ~

Cuties in Beakers.

Cutest science club I’VE ever seen.

That /stare/, RiNon…

Let’s talk about … Science Girl ▽ Silence Boy

Alright, so I’m hoping to make a series of posts like this, talking about either indie idol groups or idol groups that aren’t largely recognized, such as Hello!Project groups or AKB48.

Today’s focus will be on a subgroup of Sakura Gakuin; their Science Club!  Sakura Gakuin Kagaku-bu Kagaku Kyuumei Kikou LOGICA? (さくら学院 科学部 科学究明機構ロヂカ?)

HiNa7, MaRi7, RiNon

They are releasing a single on November 21st titled “Science Girl ▽ Silence Boy” (サイエンスガール▽サイレンスボーイ) and I instantly fell in love with the sound of it. Being a teenager who struggled through science classes all through high school, I thought that maybe this club wasn’t for me. (Then again, that is also what I said about BABYMETAL and Heavy Metal, and it looks like that had definitely changed!)

The look and feel of this PV is just one of pure wonder. This group is made up of three girls- Horiuchi Marina (MaRi7) [Leader], Sato Hinata (HiNa7), and Isono Rinon(RiNon), who just ooze the science-y feel the whole PV. Their codenames for the club is made up of chemical formulas, which is a cute play for a cute group!

The song itself oozes with science-y references that I do not get for the life of me!! However, I think that it is a really cool idea for a PV and I hope they continue on like BABYMETAL.

If you’d like to check out a short version of the PV itself, please click the link below and it will send you right to it, or you can watch it through the embedded player below!

P.S. My favorite member is RiNon! Isn’t she a cutie? ♥

Heya guys! So I got up SUPER early this morning (6 AM!) for one reason, and one reason only.

BABYMETAL was scheduled to appear at “ANIME FESTIVAL AISA 2012” and it was broadcast on Nico Nico Live. So I decided to join the party!! I was on a Skype chat with some of my greatest friends ~ ♡

They started the stream out with a great VTR explaining the story of BABYMETAL and their “KITSUNE” hand signs.
It followed up by ド・キ・ド・キ☆モーニング (Do・ki・Do・ki☆Morning) and it was pretty amazing. The next song they did was いいね!(Ii ne!), a version modified for the Singapore concert itself. This was quickly followed up by ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト (U・ki・U・ki★Midnight) and finally Headbanger!!, which Su-Metal’s vocals were actually live, other than the other songs that they had done! It was absolutely brilliant, even though they cut off at their new song! I really wanted to hear イジメ、ダメ、ゼッタイ (Ijime, Dame, Zettai), their new single coming out in January. o(;△;)o

Oh well~ I took a few screencaps, and I’ll post them below!

Introductions? ♡

I suppose an introduction is in order, huh? ♡

My name is Nikki-Marie, and I’m a bipolar teenage idol wota. (“hello nikki-marie!”)
I only call myself this because, well, I am!! I won’t deny my bipolar-ness. ♡ I love all kinds of idols, that’s why I change my mind about my favorites like the weather!

My absolute number one most favorite idols in the world are Linlin (former Morning Musume member – 8th generation), Maeda Yuuka (former S/mileage member – 1st generation), Tamai Shiori (Momoiro Clover Z), and Mizuki (Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku no. 1)! Yes, this is a very varying list, but I love them all! I can’t just love one idol, no matter how bad it may be to love more than one ♡

I’ve never been able to keep a blog before, but I’m hoping this time to be able to keep a semi-daily one! I’ll be an updater on idol news (mostly Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku, Momoiro Clover Z and S/mileage, because those are the three I follow the most!)

My favorite Hello!Project song ever is 恋をしちゃいました!(Koi wo Shichaimashita!), and my favorite idol song at the moment is a tie between 大人はわかってくれない (Otona wa Wakatte Kurenai) and 仮契約のシンデレラ (Karikeiyaku no Cinderella)!

I hope people will read my blog.
